About Polka Dot Club

Polka Dot Club logo

Polka Dot Club is an ode to heritage toy making and Jennifer Murphy, the maker behind this brand is a seriously talented lady.  She has a love for the finest teddy bears and stuffed animals - the ones made with mohair, wool felt and wood stuffing which withstood a lifetime of love from their owners.  Polka Dot Club continues to only use natural fibres and in their teddy bear ranges, still use mohair fur woven onto cotton backing as well as safety eyes and 100% cotton stuffing to bring them into the 21st century.

Jennifer Murphy learned to sew and make teddy bears from her mother, Patricia Murphy who was an artist in the late 1980's.  She launched her first website in 2001 and filled it with collectable bears and animals inspired by vintage mohair toys and sold one-of-a-kind and small limited edition pieces to collectors worldwide.

After having children of her own, she began making mohair stuffed toys that were built to withstand play and in 2013 she created Polka Dot Club with the intention of bringing her love of playthings back to the heart of her practice and beautiful playthings into the hands of children.

We love Polka Dot Club's collection because not only do they make beautiful looking toys made from natural fibres, but they provide wonderful tools for babies to develop their play skills and have a keepsake that will continue to capture each owners childhood memories and hopefully pass on to other family members rather than filling up our waste bins.
